CISSP ETHICS?

with 7 comments

They say that imitation is a form of flattery, but what is outright copying & pasting of original content and pretending its your own? That’s called PLAGIARISM and its WRONG Mr Steven Lentz CISSP. As you can see from the picture directly below, this is a blog post that I ALLOWED InfosecIsland to publish because they ASKED me to.

My post

LINK

What YOU did as can be seen below, is SCRAPED the content, REMOVED MY NAME and all ATTRIBUTION as to where you purloined the content and posted it as YOUR OWN! This I am pretty sure is AGAINST CISSP CODE OF CONDUCT.

LINK

How is it that you or anyone else today feels the need to steal others content and publish it as their own? Trust me, with Google and other means we can tell who is linking what and who is scraping our content for their own! YOU Sir, have crossed the line and you KNOW IT.

ISC as well as CISSP.com have recieved letters about this and the OTHER content that you have PLAGIARISED.

Cya,

K.

  1. yeah, not cool at all. That being said, really think you should take the high ground on this and not make it so public.

  2. Indeed not cool, but no, I will not take the “higher ground” as you call it and keep it quiet. This goes on all the time and this guy did it three times to me alone. Others were also plagiarized by him as well. This is not my first time with this and it has to stop. It is endemic and the only way that people will stop doing it is to be vocal and to shame them. End of story.

  6. now his page reads “Oops” … the turing tape machine of reading 1s and 0s .. the duality of a fork in the road where you make a choice… hence there is your freedom of choice… to participate in the whole or be a cancerous growth…

  7. This is not a matter of “high ground”. It is a personal affront to you Krypt3ia.

Obviously, I have a real problem with plagiarism. Plagiarism is NOT EQUAL to open access or open source! This man took something from you, personally, without your permission. Apparently he did it over and over again. It is particularly unethical since he is CISSP. Which I am still naive enough to believe should imply integrity and trust.

Also, if you don’t say something about this, as you did in this post, no one will do it for you! This man is very foolish. There are many methods of detecting plagiarism using text analysis, even simple algorithms work well.
P.S. I subscribe to your blog, have for awhile. Sorry for the long comment.
